Diagnosed with the heart disease “Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome” at age 12, Renier was told by cardiologists to cease all sport and other activities and to live a slow inactive life to avoid a heart attack.

After school and military duty, he started working as a laboratory assistant in a metallurgical lab at a big mining company and later started his own IT business. His love for people led him to study theology and he became a part-time minister and facilitated a range of small groups and counselling sessions.

At age 37 during a check-up for medical aid admittance, doctors wanted to hospitalise him in fear of him having a stroke. His blood pressure was 185/120, cholesterol level at 12 and pre-obese at 97kg. Renier was left facing a choice; die or die. It was during this time that Renier was invited to attend a Self Discovery course and in this training he discovered who he really is and so he decided to start to live instead of just existing.

Renier started to exercise by running, eating healthy and refocusing his mind.  During this time he discovered his passion for helping others discover their purpose. He founding his couching company HIS Image Life and has since then attended numerous certification courses and has facilitated even more seminars, courses and empowerment events as co-developed a number of training manuals and events.

Since his path of self discovery started he has not had any heart problems again, living a healthy normal happy life and in early 2015 his blood pressure was 130/90, cholesterol level 6 and weighing in at 84kg.

Renier has also been certified as a firewalking instructor and as at January 2016 already successfully crossed the coals more than 350 times.
